Static or dynamic test: understanding load testing

Load testing verifies how lifting equipment behaves and operates when subjected to a given load.

The dynamic test

The dynamic test puts the equipment under load while it is operating. It is used in particular to check the behavior of various components and devices: brakes, load-lowering control, travel limiters, anti-collision devices or load limiters.

The test coefficient is defined first and foremost by the manufacturer’s instructions. Failing that, the dynamic coefficient set by the decree is 1.1.

The static test

The static test consists of keeping the equipment under a given load, in particular to observe its behavior and identify any deformation.

Here too, the coefficient is defined first and foremost by the manufacturer’s instructions. Failing that, the regulatory coefficients are 1.5 for manually operated equipment and 1.25 for other equipment, with a test duration of one hour.

A load that’s easy to adjust

The modularity of OSC sets lets you build the load that matches the test. On compatible configurations, the patented system also lets you add or remove weights on a suspended stack without releasing the tension on the lifting rod.
